Mummy Halloween Costume

You’re might have seen the blockbuster movie The Mummy directed by Stephen Sommers with Brendan Fraser.   But the original was shot in 1932, with Boris Karloff, and heavily influenced by the curse of Tutankhamen.

The story is that the tomb of the boy king Tutankhamum lay in the Valley of the Kings for over 3200 years until Englishman Howard Carter found it in 1922.   Legend has it that the dead pharaoh had made a curse on anyone who entered.   In fact, the inscription on the tomb read:

“Death shall come on swift wings to whoever touches the tomb of the pharaoh. ”

In those times, a mummification occurred when all the organs  were removed except the heart.   The body was then dried with salt, taking about 40 days, and then treated with spices, wine and resin (the sticky part of the sap in some trees).   Lastly, the body was filled with linen and sand and wrapped in bandages.   This last party drives the creation of mummy Halloween costumes.

Mummy Halloween costumes are part of Halloween tradition and are as part of the cult as  ghosts.   Kids wrapped in sheets, bandages or toilet paper walk around stiff-legged with outstretched arms in an attempt to scare onlookers. Some even place a curse those who cross their paths.

While mummy Halloween costumes are fun to create, there are some pre-made styles . The Mummy King and Mummy King are among favorites for adults. Just about any variety of mummy costumes for kids will do.

Original Halloween Costume Ideas

I’m 16 years of age and I need some original costume ideas. Nothing slutty for me though. And I don’t want to be a real person (ex katy perry, britney spears. . ) I’m about 5’1 with red hair if that matters.  After speaking to others , I found the answer. Since you have red hair I would recommend poison ivy or harley quinn. For originals A zombie a vampire a princess, a werewolf a circus member skeleton

If you are a bit stuck for idea for a fantastic outfit for Halloween celebrations, have you thought about using a pumpkin style Halloween costume? There really is more to them than just a large roundish orange vegetable, I promise. I bet that you would not believe how many different styles of pumpkin Halloween costumes that there actually are and I am sure, like me you will be amazed by what you find.

Having wandered around the shops and stores trying to find something that really makes an impact and stand out from the crowd, it gets a bit depressing to be confronted with the same thing year in year out. So, you can imagine how refreshing it is to be able to sit at home and browse through loads of fabulous jaw dropping, celebration stopping pumpkin Halloween costumes on line.

Who would have thought that not only will you be able to wow your family, friends and neighbours but, they come with a real twist on the theme too, which is why I think that you will be pretty impressed too. In fact, you could go the whole hog and dress you and your entire family as pumpkins as they start out at infant pumpkin Halloween costume size and believe it or not the family pooch can be well catered for too, now that is cool.

The idea behind the carved pumpkin lanterns and putting them around your house was to actually keep spirits away and stems from Irish folklore (the Irish people used turnips originally, but found that pumpkins were better for the job when they emigrated to the USA) The tradition has carried on through the ages to modern times and now we see some real works of art and whether super scary or really amusing, what a fantastic way to really take on the festivities.

Also the colours are representative of the time of year too. All of the wonderful oranges, reds and blacks of autumn leaves, bonfires, harvest and dark nights are the culmination of all these things and it is all steeped in long held beliefs and traditions that go way back. So, to wear a costume that encompasses it all is a fantastic way to really celebrate.

Of course, anything goes today on the costume front and taking part is so much fun for young and old alike but, what a fascinating insight into the origins of why we wear some things, pretty cool I think. You do not have to be scary either if you want to be sexy, sassy or cute you can find a pumpkin outfit to cover just about any of those too, honest.

We all love to dress up and lose ourselves for the evening in whoever or whatever we want to be and with everyone so full of festive fun it is a fantastic time for the community to get together and really enjoy everything that Halloween has to offer. I really think that to make an impact while partying or trick or treating pumpkin Halloween costumes give you the perfect opportunity to do it and not only that but, you will be bringing past traditions and modern times together very easily.
